The theme of this year’s International Women’s Day is #InspireInclusion. So we wanted to use our platform to shout out some amazing women-led organisations that we think are truly paving the way when it comes to inspiring inclusion.

Black Ballad

Black Ballad exists to help every Black woman realise how she can change her world through every click she makes and every conversation she has.

They tell stories, host events and create experiences for, by and about Black women that they can’t and won’t get anywhere else.

Amaliah

Amaliah is dedicated to amplifying the voices of Muslim women. Through a mix of social content & in person events, their work seeks to surface the many different voices and experiences within Muslim communities. They believe that a media company that centres the voices of Muslim women is a powerful tool for cultural change.

Black Women Rising

Black Women Rising, part of The Leanne Pero Foundation, was set up when Leanne Pero found that mainstream cancer services were not inclusive enough in providing adequate support tailored to the Black community and people of colour.

Their aim is to raise awareness, educate and inspire Black people going through cancer to connect with one another and share their stories without fear or shame.

Black Girls Hike

Black Girls Hike provides a safe space for Black women to explore the outdoors. Challenging the status quo, and encouraging Black women to reconnect with nature, they host nationwide group hikes, outdoor activity days / weekends, international trips and training events.

Bloody Good Period

Bloody Good Period fight for menstrual equity and the rights of all people who bleed. They give period products to those who can’t afford them and provide reproductive health education to those less likely to access it. And rid everyone of the shame and stigma about period in the process!

Black Young Professionals (BYP) Network

BYP Network was born out of the need to connect Black professionals and students from all over the world for role model visibility, career opportunities and business support. They advance the careers of millions of young Black professionals.

Alice-May Purkiss

Alice is a well-being and creativity coach. She helps people develop better self-care strategies and learn to unlock and use their creativity as a tool for good. She works with storytellers and charities to ensure that individuals are supported and cared for when sharing their stories.
