Set your challenge
Decide what kind of gaming fundraiser suits you. From Mario Kart tournaments with your mates to being sponsored to play with your controller upside down, the choices are limited only by your imagination.
On average, 7 young people in the UK are diagnosed with breast cancer each day. But only 1 in 3 young people are checking their chest regularly.
Regular checking can you spot the signs and symptoms of breast cancer quicker. That means you could be diagnosed earlier, which means more effective treatment and better survival rates. Early detection can save lives.
By organising a gaming fundraiser for CoppaFeel! you can raise funds to help us educate, encourage and empower young people to know the signs and symptoms of breast cancer and seek medical help when they spot changes with their chest.

There’s lots of ways to turn gaming into a fundraiser. The easiest is getting sponsored to play for a particular length of time, or for playing a particular game. Or you could promise to take on different challenges when you raise certain amounts – for example, for every £10 donated you could name a character in game after someone, or when you reach £150 raised you could play with the controller upside down until you finish the level.
You can play whatever games you want, as long as they’re an appropriate PEGI rating for you or anyone watching you play. We prefer games that are inclusive and don’t promote harmful body stereotypes, but as long as you’re safe you can play whatever you want to play.
You can fundraise as much or as little as you like. For specific campaigns like Game for CoppaFeel! we’ll have a suggested goal and incentives for hitting certain fundraising milestones. You can always change your goal to suit you. There’s no amount too big or too small. We want everyone to take part and feel proud of what they achieve.
Every penny you raise helps stamp out the late detection of breast cancer. So whether you raise £5 of £5,000 you’re changing the story for young people diagnosed with breast cancer.
You can set up a fundraising page over at JustGiving or Tiltify to start your fundraising. Just follow the simple steps and you’ll have your fundraising page created in no time.
Then it’s time to share that link with your loved ones and get them to support your fantastic efforts!
As with most things, it’s about moderation. Studies show gaming can have positive effects on your mental health, but it can also be addictive. There’s also a lot of physical benefits related to hand-eye co-ordination, but it’s also important to get up and move the rest of your body around regularly too. Make sure to take plenty of breaks to stretch and stay hydrated.
Usually we’re all about ‘you do you’ at CoppaFeel!, but this is one we strongly advise against. Sleep is really important for you mental and physical health. Gaming marathons are best done in smaller chunks so you can still get a good night’s sleep. If you really want to do a 24-hour marathon we can’t stop you, but we’d feel much better if you broke it down into 2 x 12 hour marathons instead!
Of course! You’re more than welcome to stream your fundraiser for CoppaFeel!, but you might find Stream for CoppaFeel! has more helpful resources for you.
We’d love to hear from you! Helping you with your fundraising is exactly what we’re here for so drop and email to gaming@coppafeel.org and the team will get back to you asap.
