Meet our Medical Advisory Group members, here to support the CoppaFeel! team in reminding, educating and empowering the nation to check their boobs. We are proud to have their expertise on board to help evaluate, develop and inform our messaging and campaigns.
Chris trained in medicine at Oxford and is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians. He has a diploma in Tropical Medicine from the London School of Tropical Medicine and after more than a decade working in the NHS he is now doing a PhD in Molecular Virology. He is passionate about improving the nation's knowledge of public health issues and can be found on the BBC educating adults and children alike through programs such as "Trust me I'm a doctor" or "Operation Ouch".
Claire works as a behavioural change consultant across a number of projects for both the private sector and the NHS. She first got involved with CoppaFeel! after meeting founder Kris at an event hosted by the Mayor of London. Since then, she has continued to support the team with her expertise and we are delighted to have her on board with the Medical Advisory Group.
Rachel is involved in the Medical Advisory Group for CoppaFeel! having been a Trustee at the charity from its very start. She is a junior doctor training to hopefully become a clinical oncologist. Rachel has a strong interest in cancer and has done since completing her dissertation on Breast Cancer for her BSc degree from the University of Southampton. She went on to study medicine at the University of Birmingham where her passion grew. She hopes with a collection of medical brains we can develop CoppaFeel!'s presence in the medical field.
Simon is the creator of the nationally recognised Breast Care Centre (now based at Southmead Hospital). Simon is an Onco-Plastic Surgeon; cancer surgery plus reconstruction. He is also Secretary of the Association of Breast Surgeons and is passionate about reducing anxiety of breast concerns amongst women.
Penny is a GP based in Southampton and has supported CoppaFeel!'s work for a number of years. She strongly believes in CoppaFeel!'s message and believes any breast changes need to be seen as soon as possible, regardless of age. Penny has supported CoppaFeel!'s work through various initiatives in her own surgery to promote boob-checking to her patients.
