Gi-ving her all: Celebrating Giovanna Fletcher

On Sunday 15th December, we held a special event that left everyone who attended full of joy and gratitude (there were even a few happy tears). CoppaFeel! threw a surprise party in celebration of Giovanna Fletcher (aka Gi👑) and the monumental milestone she helped us achieve – raising a staggering £5 million since becoming the face of our ‘CoppaTrek! with Gi’ series.

The event took place at The Brewery in Moorgate, a venue that was transformed into a Gi-celebrating wonderland,as 450 guests – made up of those who have trekked with Gi over the years – gathered to celebrate the incredible impact she has had on CoppaFeel! and on breast cancer awareness as a whole.

The highlight of the evening (aside from the silent disco that followed) was Gi’s surprise.  She had no idea what was waiting for her. With her eyes covered by a blindfold, she was led into the venue and onto a balcony, unaware of the sea of smiling faces below her. When Gi removed the blindfold, the look on her face was priceless – her jaw dropped as she realised everyone was gathered below her, decked out in masks of her own face! It was a moment of pure disbelief, and Gi was completely overwhelmed by the love and support in the room.

The evening also featured a short film created by the incredibly talented Marco Barcella, which celebrated Gi’s journey with CoppaFeel!. The video highlighted the huge impact Gi has had on our charity, shining a spotlight on the lives she’s touched and saved through her dedication to the ‘CoppaTrek! with Gi’ series. It was an emotional tribute to everything Gi stands for and the remarkable difference she’s made, inspiring countless young people to check their chest and get to know their normal.
