We are delighted to share that “Living Every Second: The Kris Hallenga Story” will air on 1st October, BBC 2 at 9pm.

The documentary shows Kris’ wildly creative, fun and fearless approach to life, and navigating the realities of terminal illness and death on her own terms. It is also an extension of Kris’ determination to educate people on the signs of breast cancer, as well as her ambition to change the narrative around breast cancer and health advocacy in young people. The documentary demonstrates the depth of impact that Kris continues to make and the sheer scale of her legacy.

Kris’ twin and CoppaFeel! Co-Founder Maren says –

“I’m so grateful to Neil and October Films, who stayed true to their word and made a film which Kris would be proud of. She found out before she died that this film had been commissioned – something she had wanted since Dying to Live aired in 2014. Neil’s love for Kris, and passion for film-making has resulted in a film which shows Kris in all her wonderful colours. It’s a story of diagnosis to death and all the incredible, heartbreaking, mind blowing and mundane bits in between. In the last year Neil became a comforting constant in our lives again. He manages to capture the true essence and spirit of Kris – unguarded, vulnerable but always with a sense of humour and a touch of silliness. She wanted for this film to cast a light on the unspoken, to bring death alongside life and to empower important conversations. I have such admiration for the role he took on in circumstances that require one heck of a lot of strength. Not to mention the sheer VOLUME of archived footage he had to sit through to piece together her story in just one hour. I want people to watch this film and feel moved by her insatiable appetite for life and living, and for them to consider approaching their own turds from a more glitter-able perspective. And then check their boobs, of course.”

For 15 years Kris had been living with secondary breast cancer. She hasn’t lost a battle, she wasn’t in a fight and she certainly wouldn’t want you to see her death as tragic. She was simply living. She was 38 and died with fulfilment and a heart full of love.

Please remember the amazing life Kris led and the things she achieved, but above all else honour her memory by checking your chest… it could save your life.
