Mother’s Day is all about celebrating the amazing women in our lives – mums, grandmothers, aunts, sisters, caregivers and anyone who holds that special place in our hearts. While we’re showering them with love and appreciation, why not also remind them (and ourselves!) to check our chests?Yep, we said it – it’s time for that chest-check.
As part of the Asda Tickled Pink Partnership, we’re encouraging the Asda community to add a monthly chest check into their routine. We want one million more people to be regularly checking their chests by 2026 – that includes YOU!
If you head down to your local store, you may find the brilliant Asda team championing Tickled Pink with a variety of awareness raising and fundraising activities. While you’re in store, keep an eye (and ear) out for our real life storytellers across displays, and on the tannoy speakers.
To shout about the importance of our life saving message, we are grateful to have the support of our community to share their personal experience of breast cancer. Chest-checking champ, Rahaul is helping to remind us why it is so important to know your body and advocate for your own health.
Rahaul was 12 years old when his mum was diagnosed with breast cancer. His mum had felt a little lump and just assumed it was a cyst, it was his dad that encouraged her to go and get it checked out by the doctor.
“Catching it early played a big role in her outcome and experience. Mum has now been in the all clear for five years. Seeing her recovery and positive attitude throughout taught me just how important it is to get to know your body – as it really can save your life. At 22, I actively remind my friends to check and want to raise awareness on knowing your body and advocating for your health!”
So, this Mother’s Day, why not slip in a chest-check reminder?It’s a small but powerful act that could save lives. Know your body, show some love, and make your health a priority. You got this, and so do they! 👏
