When I was 18, I found a painful lump in my breast, so I contacted my GP straight away. I was seen the next day due to my family history of breast cancer. Waiting times for an appointment can vary. I was referred to a breast clinic where, after a consultation, physical examination and an ultrasound on my chest, it was found to not be cancer.

Although positive, the experience shook me.

I had never been taught how to properly check my breasts and didn’t know anything about breast pain. From then on, I looked for resources to educate myself, finding CoppaFeel!.”

This experience showed me the power of speaking up. I realised that speaking up for myself really can get you answers, reassurance, and potentially life-saving care. No one should feel like their pain is not important. If youโ€™re worried, trust yourself and seek advice. You know your body, you deserve to be taken seriously.
